Sheriff reports grant increases, seeks continued Mount Rose police contract

The sheriff's office reported to the Henry County Commission that existing police services for the city of Mount Rose will continue at the same price while removing a fixed-hours cap for patrols inside city limits.
Clerk read that "at 09:53AM, sheriff Aaron Brown, captain Michael, will work with captain Jackie Watson, attempted to the commission to present the sheriff's office report for the month of June." The clerk recorded that Commissioner Trisha Bradley moved to sign the contract for police services for Mount Rose; Commissioner Larson seconded and the motion carried on a roll call vote.
The clerk also read grant figures Sheriff Brown reported: "Last year's grant was for $60,912, and this year's grant served about a $121,824." The clerk noted the sheriff said the increase "is a great help to paying post certified deputies." The commission approved signing the deputy supplemental grant contract by roll call.
The sheriff further reported receipt of a Blue Shield grant and indicated some funds would go to a Lexipull subscription for internal policy maintenance and $5,000 for investigative equipment; no separate contract vote for Lexipull was recorded in the segments reviewed.
