County permits Alton High Fence Committee to rebuild fence along county boundary

Taylor Glover explained that an existing 8-foot fence around Alton helps direct mule deer around the town; a damaged section on the west side prompted the formation of the Alton High Fence Committee composed of local property owners. "They feel it would be best for a portion of the fence to go along the county's right-of-way boundary of the Alton Road," Glover said, noting it is not in the right-of-way but along the boundary.
Commissioners approved an agreement permitting the committee to place a fence just inside the county right-of-way, with the committee fully responsible for the fence's construction and maintenance. The motion carried with all commissioners present voting in favor.
