Commissioner Celeste Meyeres brought forward recommendations from the Kane County Economic Opportunity Board to allocate Rural County Grant funds administered through the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO). The commission approved a $10,000 award for the Farmers Markets program and up to $75,000 for a Downtown Façade, Tenant Improvement, Sign, and Beautification Grant Program, subject to applicants showing proof of proper permitting and processing.
The motion to accept the Economic Opportunity Board's recommendations carried unanimously. County staff will implement the funding awards and ensure recipients satisfy the permitting condition before funds are disbursed.
