Staff said the city expects a notice of award for phase 2 of the Crosstown Trail for about $275,000 and noted the project is at roughly 60% design. Separately, Highway North improvements — from C Street to the Plaza intersection — are approaching 60% design and are targeting construction next year; staff emphasized coordination for pedestrian and bicycle accommodations.
The presentation noted a focus on shovel-ready projects to improve competitiveness for grant funding and described efforts to work with WSDOT and transit agencies on interchange improvements and bus-stop relocations to avoid blocking intersections. "If you recall, Jordan's kind of leading some of those efforts ... We're at 60% on phase 1, and, we will be starting phase 2 as soon as we get the award," a staff speaker said.
