Vallejo deputy chief reports 182 calls in East Vallejo district; supervisors ask about battery storage review

Deputy Chief Gonzales, appearing for the Vallejo Fire Department, told the board the department responded to 182 calls in the East Vallejo Fire Protection District during the quarter, of which 142 were EMS and 40 were fire calls. He listed five development reviews, including new accessory dwelling units, an outdoor sales lot and a solar and battery storage system at the Vulcan site on Lake Herman Road.
Supervisors asked for a copy of the plan review for the battery storage installation; Gonzales said the system described was "after the meter" and intended for site infrastructure and not the grid. He also told the board the seasonal increase in fire calls reflects rural grasslands and summer conditions.
