Food vendors urge county action on unpermitted pop‑ups, ask for more sweeps and stiffer penalties

Alcazar pointed to lost permit revenue and public‑health concerns—she said permitted businesses must have ServSafe‑certified employees and proper handwashing stations, while pop‑ups often lack those safeguards. Supervisors and staff discussed possible referral to a land‑use and transportation committee and the need to coordinate health‑permit and zoning enforcement with cities.
