Member Betsy Ingram, a teacher, advocated for educational components such as interactive panels (for example, tic-tac-toe) to engage children mentally as well as physically. Chair Tressa Miller emphasized sports-themed accents to align with the sports complex setting. CDD Urban also raised a constituent concern about access, noting that "a child in a wheelchair had no place to swing," and suggested an accessible swing could be a near-term Park Board fundraising target.
