Robert Collins, the commission's consultant, reviewed a request from Avon Old Farms School to change how the EL (Education Land) district is classified and to expand permitted uses. Collins recommended renaming the district to "Agriculture, Education Land, and Recreation Open Space District" rather than moving EL into the Town's "Other" category, and he said the change would keep educational uses alongside agriculture and open space.
Collins also noted the School had asked to add "wind" to accessory-structure language, but staff omitted that because the Town currently has no wind regulations; "solar" language was added where appropriate. The Commission did not accept broad "special events or other uses" wording for accessory-structure sections and asked staff to ensure purpose statements and district names match approved applications. Staff will review suggested wording and reconcile inconsistencies.
