Tamworth Energy Committee reports T‑Mobile grant submission; Selectboard backs two EV-related warrant articles

Gabrielle Watson, minutes recorder for the Tamworth Energy Committee, told members the committee submitted a grant proposal to the T‑Mobile Hometown Grants program with letters of recommendation from the Lyceum, the Tamworth Community Nurses Association, Peg Loughran (co‑owner, Tamworth Farmers’ Market), the Lakes Region Planning Commission and the Tamworth Energy Committee. The committee discussed outreach to other potential funders and partners.
Watson and Ted Morgan reported to the Tamworth Selectboard on Jan. 13 and said the Selectboard voted to sponsor two warrant articles: creation of an Expendable Trust Fund for energy improvements to town properties and infrastructure, and installation of two EV charging ports in the town parking lot using grant or private funds; both warrant articles passed at that meeting. The committee agreed John and Gabrielle will follow up with the Tamworth Foundation about potential support.
