Village Attorney reported that a lawsuit (McKnight) was dismissed with prejudice, and that the village closed on a transfer-of-development-rights transaction that wired $7,600,000 into village accounts; a second closing could bring an additional roughly $3.7 million by the end of the month. Commissioners said some of the development-driven funds have already helped finance a new village hall, police and fire facilities.
The meeting also included announcements about upcoming trips to Tallahassee to pursue legislative priorities including property-insurance relief and Biscayne Bay water-quality grants.
