The Solano County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution recognizing Gerald "Jerry" Huber on his retirement after nearly 40 years of public service and 10 years as Solano County’s Director of Health & Social Services.
Multiple supervisors and departmental leaders credited Huber with navigating the department through the COVID-19 pandemic, leading regional homelessness strategies and building a collaborative departmental culture. During remarks, assistant director Roger Robinson called Huber "a compassionate leader" who "leads by example." Jerry Huber, in his remarks, said "This is not a job to me. This is basically a way of life and a commitment, to people in serving people," and thanked staff, union partners and his family. The board presented a plaque and gifts and adjourned to a group photo.
