Microtransit Freebee widely used, electric-bus plan removed from proposed budget

"We're buying 2 electrical buses that we had gotten grants for... That's been removed," he told the board, noting the removal would reduce the budgeted amount for transit. Board members asked whether the Freebee occupancy and utilization data could be shared; the vice mayor said the service is heavily used in morning and afternoon school periods and that staff is exploring transit extensions with FDOT permission.
