Westfir council approves $2,000 RTMP grant to Oakridge/Westfir Chamber

The Westfir City Council voted 4–0 to approve a $2,000 RTMP grant to the Oakridge/Westfir Area Chamber of Commerce to support tourism-related outreach and events. Mayor D’Lynn Williams made the motion, and Councilor Edward Johnstone seconded the approval.
Jude Anderson, the Chamber president appearing by video, told the Council the Chamber had "been attending more community events to do public outreach and was also hosting more events with local businesses," and noted a recent event at the Westfir Lodge. The Council discussed that a $2,000 line item was available in the current RTMP fund for Chamber support and moved to allocate it for the Chamber’s tourism activities.
The vote was recorded as AYES: Williams, Packard, Huey, Johnstone; NAYS: 0; ABSTENTIONS: 0. The approval covers the current fiscal year and is intended to support Chamber-led events and outreach in the Oakridge–Westfir area.
