EAC reports incorrect plantings and contractor credit for several Memorial Park trees
Summary

Council members reviewed the Lower Makefield Township spring 2026 tree‑planting plan and reported problems at the arboretum. The chair said the spring plan shows 162 trees and that operating management found 8 of 10 arboretum plantings were incorrect; the contractor will be asked to provide credit for dead or failing trees and the EAC will suggest alternate locations in Memorial Park for the rest.
The chair described the corrective approach: get credit from the contractor for trees that failed and rehome others in Memorial Park. "So I think what they're gonna try and do is find another place in the Memorial Park for those 8 trees," the chair said. The council also noted three red oaks planted may already be dying; if so, the township expects contractor credit under warranty terms.
