The Mount Holly Select Board voted to remove six hazardous trees at Star Lake Recreation Area after reviewing three contractor quotes. Clinton Woolley presented the quotes: McCullough Brothers $19,350; Willow Tree Service $8,000 (without debris pick up); and DB Tree Works $4,000 (including clean up). Jeff Chase moved to remove the six hazardous trees and fund the work from the summer road outside services budget; Mark Turco seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Board members noted the work was not budgeted but agreed it was necessary because the trees posed hazards. The board approved funding the removal from the summer road outside services line. Clinton Woolley said he would follow up with the chosen contractor about scheduling and scope.
