Sweetwater County launches ClearGov budgeting platform and schedules commissioner training as revenue projections tighten

County finance staff demonstrated the ClearGov budgeting tool and previewed revenue and expenditure views commissioners will use for the FY2026 budget cycle. Rebecca (county budget lead) showed 15 years of data uploaded into the system and explained how the platform automatically calculates projected carryover based on differences between projected FY2025 activity and FY2026 budget assumptions.
Rebecca noted the 2026 projection reflects revisions to assessed valuations and state guidance still in draft; she told commissioners she included ARPA carryover funds in the draft revenue schedule so the commission can identify where to allocate those one-time monies. "That is our ARPA money that we can assign to be spent," Rebecca said when explaining a grant line that appears to increase the 2026 revenue total.
Commissioners experienced navigation issues during the live demo and agreed to cut the public workshop portion and conduct a dedicated, hands-on ClearGov training session (in-person) with department heads before capital and operating budgets are finalized. Staff agreed to coordinate a training date and follow-up with updated revenue figures from the assessor and state revenue manual guidance.
