Commissioners report on federal outreach and BLM resource management plan talks

"The BLM Rock Springs BLM resource management plan will be aligned with president Trump's priorities soon," Commissioner Toman (speaking from Washington, D.C.) said, adding that county officials met with BLM leadership and the congressional delegation and that local concerns were personally delivered. Commissioners said they favor exploring amendment pathways rather than reopening a full NEPA process and described ongoing inter-county coordination and NACO committee activity.
Commissioners also flagged related meetings — airport grant delays, economic development consultations and local wildfire protection discussions — that they said inform county strategy while the state and federal processes continue.
