Christina Marshall, grants manager, briefed commissioners on a congestion-mitigation and air-quality (CMAQ) subrecipient agreement from the Wyoming Department of Transportation. The award totals $245,356 and requires a 20% cash match of $49,071 that staff said is included in the FY25 budget. "The project requires a 20% cash match and must be completed by 09/30/2027," Marshall said.
Assistant Public Works Director Andy Hooten (speaker 16) will oversee project implementation. Marshall said the awarded amount is smaller than the county's original application and that roughly 37% of the planned roads will not be completed under this award; the remaining work can be picked up by county road funds. The commission voted unanimously to accept the subrecipient grant agreement and authorize the chairman to sign.
Why it matters: The project funds dust suppression on county roads to improve air quality and road safety. The grant reduces local expenditure on the specified miles but leaves some originally planned work unfunded.
Next steps: Public Works will finalize the scope of work for the funded miles and prepare to administer the contract and required match funding.
