Arcadia Unified honors instructional assistant Edward Chamberlain and special‑education teacher Courtney Franz

Arcadia Unified celebrated two district employees at the start of the meeting. Superintendent Dr. Reynoso presented Edward Chamberlain as the district’s classified employee of the year, citing his eight years as an instructional assistant, graduation‑coaching work and relationships with students. Sarah, vice president of CSEA, called Chamberlain a reliable, beloved staffer and described anecdotal examples of his dedication; Foothill Credit Union presented a $100 check in recognition.
Chamberlain thanked the board and the colleagues who helped him through the years: "I wouldn't be here without it," he said, and acknowledged family and teammates in the audience. The board then announced Courtney Franz as the 2024–25 Teacher of the Year for her work with special education. Courtney thanked her Holly Avenue team, family and colleagues; Kevin Fox of the Arcadia Teachers Association praised Franz for leadership and awarded a plant and gift on behalf of ATA. Foothill Credit Union offered an additional $100 check to Franz.
Board members and the superintendent framed the recognitions as part of broader appreciation for staff and noted the community reception at a reception following the meeting.
