The board reviewed and approved the district—s Student Investment Account (SIA) grant agreement, a 28-page document that must be presented to the board prior to the superintendent signing and accepting the state grant.
During discussion board members questioned the performance framework and progress markers found in section 6 and on page 21; the superintendent and staff explained many of those targets are co-developed with the state and reflect state guidance. The chair moved to approve the agreement and the motion was seconded. "I motion to approve the SIA grant agreement as presented," the board chair stated; the board then voted 'Aye' and the motion carried.
Board members requested staff be prepared to explain progress markers and how they tie into the district strategic plan when the grant is implemented. The signed agreement allows the superintendent to accept SIA funds for the district and begin implementing funded activities under the grant terms.
