Students showcase SEL lessons and announce canned-food drive

Student-leadership presenters updated the board on recent activities and near-term events. They described a morning greeting program that hands out raffle tickets to encourage attendance, noted a climate-culture conference they attended, and said a canned-food drive is aiming for about 1,200 cans with roughly 800 reported collected to date. "We're aiming for around 1,200 cans right now, and we're short of that," a student speaker stated.
The students also reported attendance-recognition efforts and upcoming performances: the district plans a winter play on Dec. 11-13 and grade-level performances during a winter-wonderland event. Board members and staff praised the engagement and recognized volunteers who supported recent school events.
