The board unanimously authorized the county to award the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) community-needs assessment contract to Community Builders Inc., a staff-recommended selection after a review committee rated three proposals. Grants manager Christina Marshall said eight firms inquired and three submitted proposals by the March deadline; Community Builders received the highest average score and was within the approved grant budget.
Marshall said the project is a mandatory CSBG compliance requirement conducted every three years and that the electronic final report will be posted on the county’s website for public use. Commissioner Toman moved to approve the contract award and the board authorized the chair to sign the agreement. Staff said the contract requires completion by the end of August 2025 under the grant terms.
Why it matters: the needs assessment will shape tripartite-board recommendations on CSBG spending and help local agencies cite county data when seeking other funding.
