Council approves minutes, warrants, Proctor contract reductions, grants and interlocal agreement
Summary
At the May 19 meeting the council adopted the agenda and unanimously approved consent items including May 5 minutes, April warrants totaling $781,606.95 (General Fund) plus listed funds, two Proctor Construction contract-reduction payments, a Labor Day street closure, adoption of meeting-schedule changes, a cybersecurity grant agreement (Contract No. DMS-25/26-175) and an interlocal agreement on impact fees.
The City Council handled multiple administrative and financial actions by unanimous vote at the May 19, 2026 meeting. Council Member Robert 'Bob' Jarriel moved to adopt the published agenda; Council later approved the May 5 minutes and an April 2026 warrant register listing a General Fund amount of $781,606.95 as well as amounts for other funds recorded in Exhibit 2.
The council approved Prime Contract Change Order No. 001 (Contract Reduction No. 1) reducing payment to Proctor Construction by $96,600.91 and Prime Contract Change Order No. 002 (Contract Reduction No. 2) reducing payment by $8,410.16 for City-purchased materials. The council also approved a temporary street closure for the Labor Day Festival (Sept. 6–7, 2026). Separately, the council amended its 2026 schedule to cancel the Dec. 1 meeting, approved a Local Government Cybersecurity Grant Agreement with the Florida Department of Management Services (Contract No. DMS-25/26-175), and approved an interlocal agreement with Okeechobee County for collection of impact fees. All listed motions were recorded as "Motion Carried Unanimously."
