Council approves Banner Associates agreement for wastewater facility plan, tables Lake Farley test well discussion

The council approved an engineering agreement with Banner Associates for development of a Wastewater Treatment Facility Plan not to exceed $127,000. The plan will evaluate the roughly 20-year-old treatment facility, identify alternatives and select improvements to meet anticipated permit requirements. "A motion was made by Karels and seconded by Briggs to approve the engineering agreement with Banner Associates for the development of a Wastewater Treatment Facility Plan, not to exceed $127,000," the minutes state; the motion carried 5-0.
On Lake Farley irrigation needs and water extraction restrictions, council members noted that extraction is limited to 18 gallons per hour without a water-rights permit. Councilmember Craig Weinberg moved to table the test-well discussion until a special meeting on April 23 so staff could provide a cost estimate; the motion carried 5-0.
