Avon PZC schedules March 11 public hearing on updated zoning regulations

Staff reported that the zoning regulation revision draft will be posted online; the Commission set a public hearing for March 11 and asked members and the public to submit comments before the final draft is forwarded to Town Council for informational purposes.
Director of Planning and Community Development Hiram Peck told the Commission he has received comments on the draft zoning regulations and urged commissioners and the public to submit any additional comments as soon as possible. Mr. Peck suggested holding a public hearing on March 11 during a regular meeting so the Commission can consider public input before finalizing the draft.
Commissioner Robin Baran moved to set a public hearing on the zoning regulation update for March 11. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Chris White and carried with Baran, White, Mahoney, Gentile, Bowers and Levin voting in favor. Mr. Peck said the final draft will be posted on the Town website and will be provided to the Town Council for informational purposes and may be listed on their February agenda.
The Commission also received a brief update that the Affordable Housing Task Force will meet virtually on Jan. 16; no substantive discussion of the draft regulations occurred during that announcement.
