Planning Director Hiram Peck told the commission that staff are finishing minor tweaks to the draft Avon zoning regulations and will send the draft to the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) at least 30 days before a public hearing set for March 11. Peck said the regulations will be posted on the Planning Department webpage and that he will give a brief presentation at the March 11 hearing; the commission could close the hearing and adopt the regulations that night or continue it depending on public comment.
“There is no deadline relative to the timing of adoption,” Peck said, and staff expect only brief review comments from CRCOG. The draft will also be sent to the Town Council for review after the commission’s public hearing.
