Montgomery PC weighs keeping site-plan review with conditional‑use process

The Montgomery Planning Commission considered whether to separate site-plan review from conditional-use review and received strong feedback from the Development Review Board to keep site-plan standards within the conditional-use process. DRB members emphasized that if site-plan review is retained with conditional use, the town must improve the technical standards for plans to ensure consistent, usable submissions.
Emily KloƯt told the commission that Table 5 standards “are not adequate” and suggested requiring plans be drawn to scale and on graph paper and that the PC develop a spectrum of requirements based on project size. The DRB stressed the need for minimum submission standards so administrators and reviewers have consistent information.
