The chair of the Daggett County Commission read correspondence from the bishop of the Manila Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints requesting that the county convey an invitation for a community day of prayer and fasting for drought relief scheduled for Sunday the 26th of this month.

"He'd asked that that be extended that opportunity be extended to anyone that's interested in participating, specifically, the community and the county, as a whole recognizing the situation that we're in and, the dire dire circumstances where we are in dire need of of moisture," the chair read.
Board members discussed contacting local faith leaders so the invitation could be circulated. This was recorded in the correspondence portion of the agenda and did not constitute a board action requiring a vote.
The county did not take formal action but agreed to share the invitation with local leaders and Dutch John contacts.
