At the City Administrator update the administrator advised the council that an item will be on the next meeting agenda proposing a change to City Council meeting times to 5:00 p.m. to cut down on employee overtime.
The administrator reported that Proctor Construction hopes to begin work on the Public Safety Building next month and that the windows and doors for City Hall will be installed in phases, requiring temporary displacement of staff as work moves between departments. Public Works staff said they are preparing resurfacing work beginning with the southeast section and will bring a proposal from C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. for council consideration. The administrator also noted that construction within the right-of-way along North Park Street is being performed by a contractor hired by the Okeechobee County School Board to lay dark fiber.
