City Attorney previews enhanced enforcement ordinance for Business Tax Receipts and reviews FPL lighting agreement

During the City Attorney update the attorney advised the council that the first draft of a Business Tax Receipt (BTR) enhanced enforcement ordinance was circulated to staff earlier that afternoon. The draft ordinance "includes verbiage allowing the City to file suit in Civil Court upon receiving the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate's findings of fact and conclusions of law confirming a violation for non-renewals of BTRs," according to the minutes.
The City Attorney also reported reviewing the Florida Power & Light lighting agreement for electrical costs associated with streetlights being erected in the Park Street Commerce Center and reviewing Request for Proposal documents for an upcoming landscape maintenance and installation bid packet. The update was included in the official Minute File as Exhibit 9.
