The Scholarship Committee of Vernonia School District 47J met virtually on Oct. 30, 2025, and reviewed scholarship descriptions and the committee’s scoring sheet. The group made adjustments to the language of the scholarship descriptions and to the scoring criteria to better reflect the committee’s requirements.
The committee agreed to a practice run of the revised scoring sheet by rescoring applications from prior years to test consistency and calibration. The committee scheduled a follow-up meeting for Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m., and will present the updated descriptions and scoring sheet to the full board at its Nov. 13 meeting. The record lists Joanie Jones, Greg Kintz, Amy Cieloha and Javoss McGuire as committee members and Barb Carr as administrative assistant.
