Special Education Foundation says it provided nearly $250,000 to SSD and presented ceremonial check

Tim Eby, executive director of the Special Education Foundation (SEF), thanked the board and described SEF's recent work with the district, saying SEF provided nearly $250,000 in support during the last school year.
"At last count, we have close to 60 events that we'll be attending next month," Eby said, and he listed SEF programs including grants to teachers and schools, hearing-aid support, a high-school leadership academy, a junior leaders academy for middle-school students, college scholarships, and tuition support for camps and social-skills development.
Eby presented a ceremonial check to the board leadership and said SEF will support new-educator orientation and classroom-shopping events. Board members and the superintendent thanked SEF for long-term partnership and noted SEF has supported SSD for decades.
