On workforce development, the mayor said the proclamation highlights the role of Western Illinois Works and its partners in aligning workforce training with employer needs; Blanche Shoop accepted the proclamation and thanked the council. "Well, thank you very much, mayor and council members, for supporting this," Shoop said.
The proclamations were ceremonial recognitions and did not require council action beyond presentation.
