PennDOT plans 90-day Gilbertsville Road bridge replacement in summer 2026; board reviews agricultural secure area application

Manager Andrew Duncan told the board a PennDOT public meeting covered plans to replace the Gilbertsville Road bridge over Minister Creek with a concrete culvert after schools close in the summer of 2026. PennDOT estimates the work will take roughly 90 days and is coordinating detours; the township will post a project link on its website.
Duncan also reported that Kenneth and Martha Yoder have applied to add 134.31 acres to the Douglass Township Agricultural Security Area in the Papermill Road/Lone Pine Road/Henry Road section of the township. The Board received the application during the Feb. 18 meeting; no final action was recorded.
