Council presents awards to officers praised for life‑saving responses

The chief also told the council about a March 30, 2025 incident in which an officer intervened with a child who was unresponsive. The chief said the officer performed back blows and other trained measures that helped get the child to the hospital. "That's exactly what I was going to do that day," the chief said, praising the officer's training and quick action. The council did not take formal votes on the awards during the portion of the meeting in the transcript.
