Intern Justin Wohlers lays out motor-pool analysis and county apparel exchange

Justin Wohlers, the county’s summer administration intern, gave an overview of his work compiling motor-pool checkout and maintenance records into a single, filterable file that stretches to 2017. "What we've been working towards is creating a more complete and consistent system for monitoring how the motor pool is used," Wohlers said, explaining the file can show top destinations, per-vehicle miles and maintenance histories to support budgeting and replacement decisions.
Wohlers demonstrated an example chart of oil-change costs by mileage and said the tool can help compute cost-per-mile and identify vehicles that are more expensive to maintain. He also introduced a county-branded apparel exchange to let staff trade items purchased through the $80 annual allowance, and noted he will return on August 18 with a fuller motor-pool presentation and recommendations.
