The original agreement in 2022 covered phase 2 design and engineering; the supplemental cost was not included previously. Staff said there are sufficient funds in the gas tax fund to cover the cost.
When asked about construction timing, project staff said the city hopes to initiate right-of-way purchases and proceed to state letting in January so that construction could begin in spring 2025. The council approved the supplemental agreement by roll call (7–0).
