During public comment and item discussion a neighboring business owner described long‑running visibility problems caused by temporary sale‑style signs and overgrown shrubbery at driveway exits. The commenter said they have seen temporary signs placed in ways that blocked sight lines and recounted prior complaints to the city that resulted in owners moving signs back onto grass.
Steve told the commission that “in general, temporary signs are allowed for 30 days” and that temporary signs are not supposed to be placed in the right of way; he added that the city reviews new site plans and may comment on shrub placement for new construction, while for existing shrubs staff usually contacts property owners to ask that they relocate or trim vegetation for safety reasons. Commissioners heard these enforcement limits and homeowner concerns but did not take a new enforcement action at the meeting.
