Several Wayland residents used the public-comment period on May 19 to ask the Board to investigate worsening dust conditions on Hazelbrook Lane and Lincoln Road and to provide clearer notice about resurfacing materials and timelines.
Bonnie Marion of 25 Hazelbrook Lane "expressed concern over the dust conditions on Hazelbrook Lane and Lincoln Road" and asked for an assessment to ensure the material "meets applicable standards." Other residents, including Connor Davis (17 Hazelbrook Lane), Janet Haspel (33 Hazelbrook Lane) and Susan Dewey (7 Hazelbrook Lane), described perceived changes in the road material and said excessive dust has become a health concern over the past two years. Davis cited improper drainage and a poor balance of surface and subsurface materials as contributing factors.
Board members did not take immediate action at the meeting but public comments will be part of the record for staff follow-up. Residents asked for a formal road-management plan to include notice about resurfacing timing and material specifications.
