County amends municipal inmate housing rates to distinguish juveniles from adults

The Board of County Commissioners authorized two amendments to municipal inmate housing agreements with the cities of Rock Springs and Green River to reflect current county housing rates: $125 per day for adult municipal offenders and $195 per day for juvenile municipal offenders.
Undersheriff Joe Tomich said the 2023 contracts did not differentiate adult and juvenile housing, and a recent juvenile municipal arrest revealed the need to update the language. "So these two agreements are just amendments ... to meet our current housing rates, which are a $125 a day for an adult offender and a $195 a day for a juvenile offender," Tomich said. The board approved the amendments and authorized the chairman to sign.
Rock Springs had already approved its resolution; Green River's council was scheduled to act that evening, so the amendments will function as a multilateral update once both cities complete their actions.
