Burlington planning commission elects Charles Beasley chair, names Mike Bills vice chair

The Burlington Planning & Zoning Commission voted July 27 to install Charles Beasley as its chair and selected Mike Bills as vice chair as the body convened for its regular meeting.
"Thank you everyone for the vote," Chair Charles Beasley said after the commission moved and seconded the nominations and carried the motion. The commission opened the meeting with an oath of office for newly seated members, a roll call and adoption of the previous meeting’s minutes before beginning agenda business.
The leadership changes were procedural and accompanied routine remarks about meeting rules, public-comment time limits and the commission’s advisory role to city council. The commission then moved on to three rezoning and plan-development items, recommending each to the council for final action.
