Planning board elects chair, confirms vice chair and keeps 6 p.m. meeting time

The Rangeley Planning Board opened its regular meeting and moved immediately to organizational business, when a member moved to select Leon Levy as chair of the board.
"I make a motion to select Leon Levy to be chair of the board," a committee member said. The motion was seconded and the board approved the nomination. Noel Grover was nominated for vice chair and was seconded during the same organizational block.
Board members then debated whether to shift the regular meeting start from 6:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with some citing site-visit schedules and staff convenience. One member said 5:30 would be “more convenient for off the staff,” while others favored a fixed 6:00 p.m. time. "I make motion that we continue the meetings at 6PM," the chair said; the motion was seconded and carried.
Members were reminded to sign and return the packet of town policies, which includes ethics and harassment training, the remote-participation policy, and the media policy. The chair said the forms are in members’ packets and asked that they be returned.
The board closed its organizational business and moved on to the meeting agenda.
