At the Aug. 27 meeting the Roxbury Board of Selectmen discussed a stream that is muddy and flowing silt into the town river; the board recorded that a video shows the stream full of silt and recommended notifying the forestry service.
The stream item was added to New Business earlier in the meeting; the Code Enforcement Officer will re-check Theriault Stream and the board agreed to inform forestry officials so the source and any required remediation can be assessed. No enforcement action or timeline was recorded in the minutes.
"Stream: muddy, into river. Video of stream being full of silt. Need to let forestry service know," the minutes state. The board kept the topic on the agenda for further monitoring and follow-up.
