Public Works Director Hayden White briefed the commission on several operational items: a community sandbag-filling event hosted by Noel Wells scheduled for July 15, ongoing drilling of the city's new water well, preparatory work on Dog Park Road ahead of next year's chip sealing, recent water-leak repairs, and new public works hires currently in training. The sandbag materials are available to residents, and staff expects the event to be a community resource during the summer flood season.
City Manager Ryan Robinson summarized recent City Council actions and administrative updates. He said the unlawful parking ordinance was amended so that the provision restricting off-street parking now "ties restrictions to the presence of snow rather than a fixed calendar period (November through March)." Robinson also noted that permitted and conditional-use definitions for the business commercial zone were approved, an appeal board appointment was made but a subsequent withdrawal prevented the board from convening, and he encouraged commissioners to suggest topics for land-use training.
