Ellendale council schedules spring cleanup, National Night Out and approves part-time mowing hire

City Clerk/Treasurer Steve Engel told the council that Spring Cleanup will be held on June 13 from 9 a.m. to noon and National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4; Engel will check with a volunteer organizer for National Night Out and handle promotion. The Parks & Trails Committee will meet Tuesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the community hall to begin summer planning.
Maintenance Supervisor Josh Otto and the council discussed seasonal mowing needs. The council decided to advertise a part-time mowing position at up to 25 hours per week aimed primarily at mowing and related light duties; Engel will review the existing job description and pay-equity scale and post the vacancy. Council members signaled preference to limit duties to mowing, weed-eating and similar work; Engel will confirm minimum age and driver’s-license requirements for the posting.
