Nate Cardinal briefed the Board on campus monitor staffing and professional development. He said current ratios are one monitor per 422 students at Pahrump Valley High School and one per 351 students at Rosemary Clarke Middle School, and described a full‑day professional development session covering core responsibilities, CPR/AED/EpiPen protocols, body language awareness and de‑escalation techniques. Monitors have also been issued high‑visibility vests to improve recognition during incidents.
Trustees discussed staffing levels relative to regional standards and asked follow‑up questions about recruitment and training cadence. Cardinal noted ongoing hiring and training schedules and will report back on any recommended adjustments to staffing or further training needs.
