Otto also reported a sewer backup on 6th Street S. where Olson Excavating found that a manhole shown on city maps had been removed; Empire Pipe was engaged to televise the line and Engel requested a quote for installing a sleeve by boring rather than removing a driveway to fix a separated joint beneath 703 6th St. S.
Council approved the VFD funding by roll call with all members voting aye. The council recorded no vote on the sleeve option yet; Engel will obtain a firm quote from Empire Pipe for a sleeve-by-boring repair to avoid full driveway excavation.
