Mayor: Prologis appeals ZBA denial; village notes downtown milestones and events

Mayor Ralph Ekstrand reported at the Oct. 7 work session that the Town of Babylon Zoning Board of Appeals denied a Prologis proposal for a warehouse and distribution facility at the former Farmingdale Lanes site; Prologis has filed an Article 78 proceeding with the court system to seek reversal of that decision. The minutes do not record further legal arguments or a board position on the pending court matter.
The mayor also highlighted local improvements and community items: new bushes installed at the Jefferson Road sump, the repaired traffic light at 5 Corners, and a request to replace the "Best of Long Island" sign at Village Hall. He announced that the Nutty Irishman will mark its 20th anniversary on Oct. 19. The board adjourned to its regular meeting at 8:00 p.m.
