Board addresses downtown signage, new pub name and trash-container fixes

Village staff told trustees on Oct. 7 that several downtown signage items require enforcement and review. Building Superintendent Stephen Fellman said window signage at a CBD store must be cut back to the required 25 percent and Bodega signage will be reviewed; illuminated and ATM signs and moving digital-message signs were specifically flagged for compliance checks.
Fellman also reported that 217 Main Street will be renamed L.I. McGrath's and that the business will seek a Special Use Permit to operate as an Irish pub. The board discussed the Nutty Irishman and 317 Main Street, where dumpster construction is underway but a second dumpster guard and container are still needed to meet code requirements. No applications were on file yet for The Pour Authority's planned move adjacent to 335 Main Street, the minutes show.
