Multiple Farmingdale development projects near completion as permits move forward

Trustees were told that several local development projects are completing or nearing occupancy, including Blue & Gold Development’s ‘The Enclave’, Sterling Green, Carlyle workforce units and extended special-use approvals for convenience stores.
Village building officials reported progress across a string of projects at the Oct. 7 work session. Stephen Fellman, Building Superintendent, said the Blue and Gold Development at 1 Conklin Street ("The Enclave") is virtually complete and nearing issuance of a certificate of occupancy. Sterling Green is nearing completion and a temporary certificate of occupancy has been issued. The Carlyle project has a certificate of occupancy and LIHP will run an electronic lottery for its workforce units.
Fellman said the Zoning Board of Appeals approved plans for the proposed 7‑11 and Sunoco sites and the village board approved a Special Use Permit; construction drawings are awaited before building permits can be issued and the Special Use Permit was extended. Dish Network building permits have been issued and installation has started. Enterprise Rent‑A‑Car has an approved Special Use Permit and construction has started. Fellman also reported that Verizon must resubmit plans for communications equipment on the clock tower at Palmer's Shopping Center; a public hearing for that special-use permit is scheduled for Oct. 7 but will be adjourned to November to allow more review.
The building department continues routine work on one-, two- and three-family inspections and outstanding items such as required dumpster guards at 317 Main Street. No formal votes or ordinance actions on individual projects were recorded in the minutes of the work session.
